Washing instructions in the washing machine
Always follow the instructions on the laundry care labels.
Separate the clothes according to the instructions on the labels
Calculate the dosage according to how dirty the clothes are and the hardness of the water.
Turn them upside down, unbutton them and make sure they are already dry and dusted
Do not overload the washing machine.
Some clothes that appear to have 'shrunk' in the wash return to their original dimensions after ironing
Do not leave clothes too dirty and then wash them
Instructions for hand washing
Avoid mix & match Separate the clothes into white and dark and wash them in different basins. Choose a powder detergent because it brings out the white colour! For your dark ones, opt for a suitable product for e.g. black clothes that won't fade them. At the right temperature (30oc, i.e. lukewarm water is suitable for hand washing. Too hot water will just fade the clothes while colder water will not help them clean. Some clothes do need to be cleaned in completely cold water though, so check the labels on your clothes before you wash them. Do not soak them for more than 5 minutes. If you overdo the soaking, the clothes risk fading. Do not drain them by twisting them, this can even damage the garment. Just press them against the side of the basin to get rid of excess liquid. Finally, lay the garment out neatly inside a towel wrap and the water will be absorbed. Repeat until the garment is slightly damp.
Instructions for the use of bleach
Always make sure you have consulted the symbols marked on the labels.
Bleach destroys the fibres of clothes, which is why bleach is always preferable to bleach.
Use bleach only in cold water and no longer than an hour.
Finally, avoid washing with bleach in metal basins.
Instructions for ironing
Sort the clothes according to the instruction symbols on the label and start ironing at the lowest temperature
Iron the clothes a little damp.
